Internationally, little is known about historical Sindh, the southernmost province of Pakistan, and currently one of the most difficult places to survive. Ongoing ethnic persecution, and continual drought makes Sindh inhospitable; yet the Sindhis cherish the land and the culture, based on nonviolent spirituality and the teachings of Sufism. In a time in which global security is dependent on Pakistan's stability, Sindh's own stability is essential. Who lives there, and how? Few know of the men's experience in Sindh; the women's ideas have yet to be shared. This presentation will focus on what is happening in Sindh, what the women feel and know about it, and why it is as it is.
