Sir,
I find it very reprehensible of the senior POLITICIANS in this country to interfere in police investigations.
 
Such outspoken adverse or negative comment, for example from the former Home Minister Mr. David Blunkett, is especially unfortunate since besides attempting to INTIMIDATE the police officers, they also encourage members of public to cry "FOUL" when the police try to deal with any law breaker.
 
Politics is universally known to be "dirty business". The politicians and politics go together.
 
I am a citizen of this country of Indian origin, and have come to respect the police services here for being incorruptible and above board. 
 
I hope you will continue upholding your fine reputation and show similar courage iin the future in tackling the high and the mighty just like the common man in the street.
 
Congratulations for that early morning raid on Ruth Turner. She should have been above any suspicion in the first instance.
 
Please see the situation in corruption ridden INDIA. Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was charged with taking commissions (allegedly $US40 million) from the Swedish Gun Company BOFORS. The case against him has been dropped due to his being a "Gandhi", holding the powerful POLITICAL office of Prime Minister then.
