Benazir Bhutto's grandmother (Zulfiqar Ali's mother) was Hindu Rajput Lakhi Bai.

Zulfiqar's father and Benazir's grandfather had gifted Junagadh to India.

Like Kashmir's population was Muslim, and ruler Hindu and decided to remain independent during 1947 but later panicked and deciding to go India way, while caretaker government went Pakistan way.

Lakhi Bai's family still lives in India.

Incidentally Zulfiqar later for a sum of Rs 100 crore signed away Pakistan share of Sutlej , Beas and Ravi to India under Indus Water Treaty. And later signed Simla agreement recognising LOC.

Marriage proposal was also rife at one stage between Gandhi and Bhutto family for hand of Benazir for Sanjay Gandhi before he selected Maneka Gandhi who happened to be a model for DCM towels.
