CHEATING THE EX SERVICEMEN BY THE GOVERNMENT///////////// Dear editor///////////// it was sad to see the front page news "Pension bonanza for the ex-servicemen" .Before the Free press readers get any wrong impression on the subject , as an Ex servicemen , it is my moral duty to highlight the 1000% cheating done by series of governments which ruled from 1987 to date. ///////////// Before i place the facts in front of the readers i would like to emphasise that the present government has not given any bonanza to the ex servicemen. on the contrary they have denied the OROP demand of ex servicemen again and again. Even our respected honourable President of India has refused to meet the ex servicemen on 14 march 2010./////////// So far ex servicemen deposited their honour medals at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan around five times in 2008 and 2009 . However when it was learnt that madam President had no knowledge of such depositing of medals the IESM decided to hand over the medals to Madam herself , But since she did not receive the medal the IESM took the medals back and are planning a strategy to deposit the medals. ///////////// Ex servicemen have been cheated to such an extent that they had to undertake measures like Fast unto death , Relay fasts , depositing of medals, etc. The government has belittled the ex servicemen to such an extent that even the widows have taken to the road to claim their rights. The outline information on the Present Supreme Court order is given below. On 08 Mar 10, in the Supreme Court, Retired Defence Officers Association has won the case about the Rank Pay anomaly created by Ministry of Defence after the 4th Pay Commission Report was submitted. /////////// The detailed Case////////// The Case of Maj (Retd) AK Dhanabalan Vs The Union of India //////////// ………………… …………………………………………………………………………. “details published in paper but omitted here to save ur time”//////////// ………………… ……………………………. /////////////A few retired affected officers joined together to make an association to take further legal action against this injustice. RETIRED DEFENCE OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION was formed and they have been struggling since 2005 to gt justice. Government took as low an excuse as to say we dont have the documents of ex service officers and also claimed why they did not make the claim while in the service. It is the efforts of the RDOA ,which has made the government to bow down. The honourable Supreme Court has given the due rights to the Ex servicemen , The delay was only by 25 years and many of the officers of that lot have possibly shaken hands with God and their families will never see the arrears and the 6% interest .///////////// The governments and all political parties should hang their head in shame for having denied the rights to ex ex servicemen, who have defended the integrity of the country. IT IS NO PENSION BONANZA IT IS A DENIED RIGHT DELAYED BY 25 YEARS /////////// 000000000
