Dear BBC,
IT IS NOT A EUROPEAN TRAGEDY BUT AN ISLAMIC TRAGEDY.
Italy's Deputy Prime Minister is politically correct (below) and he must have some axe to grind.
The reality is that this unending migration from violent ISLAMIC East to peaceful CHRISIAN West is the tragedy of ISLAMIC WORLD itself.
How is it that the ORGANISATION OF WORLD ISLAMIC NATIONS is silent? FIFTY odd islamic lands have plenty of SPARE LAND to accommodate all the surplus poor and starving people from Africa and the Middle East.
Why are they watching passively? WHERE IS THE BROTHERHOOD OF ISLAM? THEY KILL THEIR DAUGHTERS FOR "FAMILY HONOUR". (Channel 4 TV special report, 7.40 p.m. Friday October 4, 2013. ARE THE FLEEING AND DROWNING MUSLIMS NOT ISLAMIC HONOUR?
The answer is: They too wish the world to be settled by the Muslims so that in the end their fate too, is sealed like that of (ONCE BUDDHIST) AFGHANISAN and (once Hindu) PAKISTAN and BANGLADESH.
America is lucky to be far away from the Mediterannian. She could also take in a few million fleeing Muslims to relieve the pressure on Europe and Israel.
Then after educating and civilising them, she could send them back to the Middle East to bring peace and order there. These RETURNEES could also make Islam look like a "religion of peace"!
