Hope we will get our money back too. In Jayalalitha's case court took possession of huge estates of land . But land in India cannot be deposited with Swiss banks like stolen money. So let us see how that too can be achieved.

Next, Sonia, Rahul will land in jail: Subramanian Swamy

BAREILLY: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi will also soon head to jail, following in the footsteps of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa, said BJP functionary Subramaian Swamy on Monday. It was on a complaint registered by Swamy that the court had framed charges in the disproportionate assets case against the former Tamil Nadu chief minister, currently lodged in a Bangalore jail.

Swamy was in Bareilly to address a meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). He said the conviction of Jayalalithaa was a landmark event, and said the Gandhi mother-son duo faced the prospect of conviction too, in the Rs 5,000 crore National Herald ownership case. Concluding arguments in that case are to be heard in a Delhi court on October 1.

Swamy had filed a complaint in November 2012, saying that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had fraudulently acquired a public limited company with real estate in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. While the acquired place was meant only for the publication of a newspaper, a passport office was running from the premises, he had said.

Chatting informally with reporters on Monday, Swamy said, "Although Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi has approached the high court for relief in the Rs 5,000 crore National Herald case, I will leave no stone unturned to see that she and Rahul Gandhi are sent to jail. I have clinching evidence in the form of strong documentary proof to substantiate my allegations."

Swamy, in his anti-corruption enthusiasm, said the list of political leaders involved in corruption included also those from his own Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Quick to realise that he had overstepped, he said, "I am not a Jaichand (referring to the man who had betrayed 12th century Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan) and would channelize all my energy and resources into going after my political adversaries. However, after accomplishing this objective, I will also try to raise my voice against corrupt leaders in my own party."

Earlier, addressing a large gathering at the Sanjay Community Hall, Swamy said that his party was not against love marriage or religious conversion. He said the party opposed conversion by offering allurements, and even the Supreme Court had asked the government to check this practice. He claimed that Muslim countries across the world were sending funds to India to entice Hindu girls and force them to convert to Islam.
