GOI says that it has done what they could, diplomatically and through the back channels, in the case of Sarabjit Sincgh. SUFFICE TO SAY THAT THE EFFORTS REMAINED FUTILE.
It is the responsibility of GOI to protect the rights of Indian Citizens, wherever they may be residing and regardless of the perception against the individuals in the custody of foreign countries or otherwise.
It is clear that GOI has been very soft with PAKISTAN despite the brutal treated meted ou to Indian Soildiers and such of the prisoners in Pakistan's jails. Sarabjit has voiced his great concern and the threats that he had received. Yet GOI has not ensured that safety and security of Sarabjit is ensured ( contrast this with the elaborate safety measures taken for AJMAL KASAB while he was in Govt's custody....a special bullet proof tunnel was said to have been constructed spending several CRORES of public money ). It is obvious that GOI has not paid serious attention and has played to the gallery of appeasing Pakistan to the detriment of safety and security of not only the Indian Citizens in Pakistan but also endangering our country to the TERRTORIST ATTACKS, engineered and made from Pakistan. The belligerant and uncouth neighbour, PAKISTAN has not kept its promise and has violated the Agreement signed by President Musharaff, the then President of Pakistan ( now under house arrest ) for no using Pakistan's soil to train any terrorists.
The least GOI can do now is Short of military ACtion, to totally IGNORE Pakistran in ALL aspects,,,,,TRADE, CULTURAL AFFAIRS. NO MORE CRICKET OR ANY PLAYS WITH PAKISTAN. Just ignore such of those advocates of Peace like Kuldeep Nayyar and some of the Muslim Leaders. Muslim Separatist Leaders from Kashmir must also be simulteneously kept under very cl;ose watch, and consider even keeping them under house arrest, if needed. The message should be that INDIA WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY MORE NON-SENSE FROM PAKISTAN AND DOWN GRADE THE INDIAN EMBASSY AT PAKISTAN---ONLY CONSULAR STATUS, AND NOT THAT OF AMBASSADORAL LEVEL.
