COMMENT (Gandhi in Ghana!)
If the Ghanaians have been crushed by an occupying power to pulp, if they are terrified like a pigeon in the claws of a hawk, if their occupiers burn down the whole villages if a patriot throws a stone at the Viceroy’s carriage, and every patriot is either hanged to death or brutally beaten up to break every bone in his body, and if such slavery has lasted a full thousand years, then they (the Ghanaians) definitely need to honour a Gandhi, and better still, have one of their own, who will urge the crushed Ghanaians day and night not to abuse or provoke the invaders in order to save the lives of their men and the dignity of their women who are being abducted and raped, one every 15 minutes, and round the clock.
By this logic you will notice that the brave Afghans, though shot at, bombed and bombarded by the world’s super power, the USA, and her Allies, do not yet need a Gandhi to show their helplessness, degradation and slavery to the ultimate limit. But they WILL most certainly need a Gandhi in the year 3016 AD, or a bit earlier, if the Americans are still ruling Afghanistan and each and every mosque has been razed to ground or turned into a church!
Hope everyone will comprehend the reason why the HINDUS need Gandhi desperately but neither the Afghans nor the Ghanaians need one to admire or adore.
Ghana can decide for herself whether they need Gandhi or a WARRIOR to inspire their young men and women, especially if all their warriors and brave men have not been shot dead or hanged from the gallows already!
Modiji has a good reason to put Gandhi on display. His Bharat is “broken & curtailed” and South Kashmir is “on fire” due to Article 370. New fires are starting in West Bengal and Kerala State. So he has to convey the impression to the Muslim minority, “Brothers, let us live in peace. Have no fear from the Hindus. We do not mention Sri Rama, Guru Gobind Singhji and Shivaji in our Lok Sabha but only Mahatma Gandhi!
Now it is up to the Ghanaians to sit in the company of morally superior and intellectually advanced “sheep and goats” and keep the Gandhi statue where it is. The alternative is the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Field Marshal Maneckshaw, even Shaheed Bhagat Singh and General Hari Singh Nalwa!

ACCRA, Ghana (AP) — Ghana has expressed its intention to remove a statue of Indian independence leader Mohandas Gandhi from a university in the capital, citing a controversy over what critics call his "racist identity."
But the government made clear the move would be for the statue's safety, telling the critics that "we must remember that people evolve."
Professors at the University of Ghana launched a petition last month calling for the removal of the statue, which was unveiled by Indian President Pranab Mukherjee in June.
Ghana's foreign affairs ministry said the government "would ... want to relocate the statue from the University of Ghana to ensure its safety."
Obadele Kambon, one of the petition's organizers, said Thursday there was no confirmation the statue would be removed. He said moving the statue to another location in Ghana would be insufficient.
He urged the government to send it back to India.
"We don't think the statue would be well received anywhere in Ghana," he said.
Gandhi, a lawyer, traveled to South Africa in 1893 and stayed for two decades, fighting to expand rights for Indians there. The petition quotes writings from that period in which he refers to black South Africans as savages.
At the same time, Gandhi's approach of nonviolent protest influenced the African National Congress and its resistance to white minority rule.
"While acknowledging that human as he was, Mahatma Gandhi may have had his flaws, we must remember that people evolve," Ghana's statement said. "He inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world."
The statement also expressed concern that the professors' campaign could harm Ghana's ties to India.
The professors say the university instead should feature statues of local heroes like Yaa Asantewaa, who led a rebellion against British colonialism, or Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president.
