The first rift between India and China was due to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He hated the Hindus and the Buddhists but loved the Arabs and the Muslims. Crushed Hindus, slaves for centuries had lost the guts to demand or ensure a COMMITTED HINDU prime minister. They simply adored Nehru due to his superior anglicised way of life and dictatorial life style. The more he "whipped" them, the more they stooped to kiss his feet. That was the HINDU nation in 1947. Without consulting them or caring for their views and wishes he, NEHRU, simple surrendered one third of India to fundamentalist ISLAM without even insisting on TRANSFER OF POPULATION. The result was the wholesale SLAUGHTER of two million Hindus in the first year of birth of ISLAMIC Pakistan established on the SECULAR SOIL of Hindusthan.
Then Nehru, caring two hoots for the Hindus' interests showed complete disregard for the only Hindu Kingdom of Nepal and all the Buddhist countries to the East including China. In order to promote GANDHI and sit under his umbrella of non violence, appeasement and surrenders, he (Nehru) hated Mao Tse Tung, the revolutionary. Indo-China relations were strained dur to atheist, anti Hindu NEHRU.
The present situation: Please read the views of a patriot:
Stop blaming China for India's woes
Let me re-highlight that geopolitics of today are far more different from the decades of 1950s and early 1960s.
No Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai or no "Panchsheel".
India was the second-most hated nation after the U.S.S.R in U.S.A eyes - you are sitting in USA today. So you are playing their tune today.
QUAD today - No QUAD in 1950s and 1960s.
Having gone over to USA long ago, you may consider flaunting your Special Frontier Force credentials and give your present "Avatar".
Stop blaming China for India's woes due to their construction of Dams in Tibet.
Are you aware that annual rainfall in Tibet is barely 4 to 12 inches with the highest in Lhasa at 20 inches (one days rainfall in
Pasight in the foothills)
Read the extracts reproduced of article written long ago: "China Factor Fraud over Dams in Tibet" has been making rounds in the media - disinformation through misrepresentation of facts and obfuscating the implications of waters.
Lack of geostrategic depth in news/debates mercilessly exposes intellectual bankruptcy of those raising the China Factor - national
security interests. Know-all Editors and Anchors besides political leaders, some decrepit, must revisit elementary geography lessons to gain basic knowledge.
Indian politics over the issue of China constructing Dams to stop inflow of water is the worst bogey or fraud. None can stop China from utilizing waters of rivers flowing in Tibet either in Sutlej or Brahmaputra rivers.
Ipso facto, Brahmaputra River receives copious inflows of water from its tributaries flowing *SOUTH* from the *watershed* along the India-China and China-Bhutan-Nepal borders and North of Patkoi Range (India-Myanmar border) and Meghalaya.
Brahmaputra, called Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan and Chinese name Yarlung Zangbo languages, originates on the Chemayungdung Glacier located on the northern side of the Himalayas in Burang County of Tibet. The river is 3,848 km long, and its drainage area is 712,035 km2. From its source, the river runs for nearly 700 mi (1,100 km) in a generally easterly direction between the main range of the Himalayas to the south and the Kailas Range to the north.
Brahmaputra river enters India in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, where it is called Siang, after a very rapid descent from its original height in Tibet with canyon walls that extend upward for 16,500 ft and more on each side East of Kepang La. The Dihang or Siang River and the Lohit River join at the head of the Assam Valley and the river is called Brahmaputra as it enters the state of Assam.
The climatic conditions in the Tibet region are hardly ever analyzed. In Tibet, the annual rainfall varies between 4 to 12 inches with the highest in Lhasa at 20 inches. Add to it, the snow fall and the melting waters on account of it.
One day rainfall in Pasighat in the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh receives more than the entire annual rainfall in at any place in Tibet.
Cumulatively, the combined volumetric flow is quite insignificant when compared with annual rainfall (over 100 to 180 inches) on the Southern side of the Himalayan watershed and melting waters of snow.
In reality, construction of dams on the Tibetan side would reduce the annual flood havoc in the Assam plains.
Having patrolled the borders in Tuting-Gelling and Kepang La (Where Tsang Po enters India and known later as Brahmaputra, let me point out that the swirling waters of Brahmaputra during the Rainy Season is mostly due to rainfall on the South side of McMahan line or the Watershed.
And, the prime reason for the annual havoc in Assam valley is to almost virtual deforestation of “Centuries old Rainforests” by Plywood Industries. I had personal exposure to the large scale smuggling of “Holong and Holok” logs whilst serving in the North East (75 Veneer and saw Mills on Assam-Nagaland and Arunachal Border) to satisfy the greed to decorate households and offices.
With the first rainfall, floods in Assam is its natural fallout. No rain water run-off absorption under the canopy of forests. And, soil erosion galore and sedimentation downstream in Assam.
All the politics quite frequently appearing in the media is pure hogwash.
