PARTITIONED INDIA COULD BECOME LEBANON

Date: 28/12/2019

Not long ago in the 1970s *Lebanon* was one such Arab country which was called 'Arab's paradise' and its capital Beirut was known as *Paris of Arabia*. Lebanon was a progressive, tolerant and multi-cultural society, just like India is today.

Lebanon had the best Universities in the world, where children from all over Arabia used to go for studies. And then stay there, work, work hard.

Lebanese banking was one of the best banking systems in the world. Despite not having oil, Lebanon was a great economy.

How was Lebanese society then. This can be gauged from this. That 50-60 year old Hindi film *An Evening in Paris* was actually shot not in Paris but in Lebanon.

In the late 60s the *jihadi forces* began to raise their heads there. When there was unrest in *Jordan* in the 70s, Lebanon opened its doors to *Palestinian refugees* - welcome! By 1980, Lebanon came to be in exactly the same condition as *Syria* is in today.

Lebanese *Christian population* were killed by jihadists who survived became refugees, just as Syria's ISIS did. *The entire Christian population was wiped out in the entire city.* No one came to their rescue.

Even if a small part of a society should become a jihadi, then the rest of the peace loving Muslim society has no importance. They become irrelevant. The story of Lebanon is not only very old, it is only 30 - 40 years old.

There is a lot to be learned from the history of Lebanon. And we Sindhis in particular should not forget the atrocities our parents and grandparents went through in the immediate aftermath of the partition of India. There is a need to be vigilant against the so called refugees who are roaming around as *Rohingyas, Bangladeshi intruders* and *Frontier territories*.

Unite against such forces, who are the supporters of the jihadis. And boycott those parties, institutions and people who are associated with them.

Don't be silent, Read, understand and explain to others also.
