CONDOLENCES OVER LOSS OF LIFE IN EARTHQUAKE

Your Excellency,
We are extremely sad to hear of the devastating earthquake in your country that has claimed more than 1,000 lives besides damage to hundreds of properties.

We offer our sincere condolences to be bereaved families and wish to add that Sikh volunteers are keen to come to Afghanistan from the United Kingdom and India, to render all help needed, subject to your permission.
Your Excellency, we may offer the following comment in hindsight with regard to the two recent calamities in Afghanistan, (1) the cowardly attack on the Sikh place of worship in Kabul on 18 June 2022 and (2) the devastating earthquake on 22 June 2022.

Both events took place within four days! Hence following thoughts seem logical and reasonable. In fact, they are compelling us all to pray to Allah for His mercy and to keep us on the right path in life.
We ask: IS IT ALLAH'S WRATH OR RANDOM ACT BY NATURE? Is it superstition (to link the two events) or an act of higher (Almighty) power?

Gunmen launched an attack on a Sikh Gurdwara in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Saturday (18 June 2022), killing at least two people, Kabul police chief spokesman Khalid Zadran said.

Seven attackers tried to storm the temple in the early hours of Saturday morning, throwing grenades at security guards who were standing at the entrance. The attackers also detonated a car bomb in the area but no casualties were reported from the explosion.

All seven gunmen were killed after a standoff that lasted several hours inside the temple’s compound, Zadran said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The attack killed a member of the security forces and a Sikh worshiper, according to state-run news agency Bakhtar.

At least 1,000 people have died and another 1,500 were injured in an earthquake that struck Afghanistan’s Paktika province on Wednesday morning, officials said, almost quadrupling the death toll from earlier in the day.

COMMENT
We believe that the two events are linked. The attack on Gurdwara in Kabul and the profane treatment of SRI GURU GRANTH SAIB, the Sikhs' holiest book, invited Allah's wrath in the shape of the devastating earthquake that claimed over 1,000 lives. You may disagree.

There are two holy books, the KORAN that was DICTATED by Allah, and Sri Guru Granth Sahib that was INSPIRED by Allah. In an ISLAMIC republic like Afghanistan both books ought to be shown equal respect.

Since there is widespread ignorance about Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Afghanistan, we humbly request the Government of Afghanistan to have the Sikhs' Holy Book, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, translated into Dari and Persian languages and copies placed in every school and university in Afghanistan.

ALLAH will protect your people and land.
Regards
