RAM MANDIR & GURUDWRA IN THOSE HAPPY DAYS WHEN DIRTY DYNASTY (NEHRU'S HARAAMI AULAD") HAD NOT POISONED THE SOCIAL AND COMMUNAL AIR IN OUR PARTITIONED INDIA.

A CHILDHOOD MEMORY:

In my mail “My rendezvous with childhood memories” I have inadvertently left out a very important phase. I am now appending it for your kind perusal.

RAM MANDIR & GURUDWRA

The conjoined Ram Mandir & Gurudwara have a special significance in my memories the Mandir and Gurudwara are situated on single piece of land and nominally separated by a thin brick wall, hence the name “conjoined”. Hindus and Sikhs used to visit both the places of worship and offer service without any distinction. We children used to simply hop over the so-called wall to go either to Gurudwara or Ram Mandir. All the people in the cantonment as also our family used to visit both the shrines every Sunday. We used to go to Ram Mandir first and then to Gurudwara and worshiped at both the places. In fact that was the practiced of most of the residents of Roorkee, These two shrines left a strong imprint in my memory.
